WEST WINDSOR, N.J. - The crew of Mary Maginnis (Maple Glen, Pa.) and Shannon Stiet (Mukilteo, Wash.) earned junior national team berths on Wednesday at the 2008 Junior Women's Pair World Championships Trials at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J.
Racing unopposed, the duo rowed down the course to secure their spot on the junior national team that will compete at the 2008 FISA World Rowing Senior and Junior Championships July 22-27 in Linz/Ottensheim, Austria. Both athletes are first-time junior national team members.
Junior national team trials were held June 24-26 for the men's single sculls, women's single sculls, men's pair, men's double sculls, women's double sculls and men's quadruple sculls. The remaining crews will be announced next week.
